Ericsson – The Big Cheer Machine
For the 2010 Football world cup, we helped build a confetti glass box hooked up to the internet placed at the Ericsson Global HQ. The installation allowed people from all over the world to send in "cheers" via Twitter, SMS and Web. All tweets were printed live and cut up into confetti and then dropped into a large glass box.
The custom built system had four TUP-500 printers, a DMX-controlled fan system to make the confetti whirl and a bunch of macro-lens ethernet cameras to capture and stream the actual print-session live.
